AFT promotes understanding of the relationship between individual well-being and family functioning and family dynamics. We aim to promote and support strength and resilience in families and their communities of support.

AFT is a thriving multi-disciplinary alliance of professionals working therapeutically with children, adults and those important in their lives, in health, social care, education and third sector services. It is the UK's leading organisation for professionals working with families and a hub of excellence and expertise in family therapy and systemic practice.

Sue Jones is the current Chair of the Association & Board of Directors & Trustees who manage the business of the Association, assisted by the work of relevant committees. AFT has a UK wide network of local branches which provide support, workshops and courses open to members and non-members.
