The Professional Affairs Committee (PAC) has over many years worked with employees around the issues of employment. They have developed job descriptions and terms and conditions which have been used by many employers. They also provide a panel of National Assessors who can advise employers in relation to jobs and sit on appointment committees as professional advisors. Please see Appointing a Family Therapist page for more information on this.
Within the limits of its charitable status, anything AFT does has ultimately to benefit the public and it cannot therefore become involved with individual disputes (that is the role of the trade union). However there is clearly much that needs to be done to promote the availability of good family and systemic psychotherapy services within the NHS, Voluntary and Independent Sectors and we welcome all your views and ideas.
If you would like to join and are a UKCP Registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, please contact Gill Goodwillie via the AFT Office.
The PAC have recently developed AFT Supervision Policy and Practice Guidelines, please download here
