AFT are delighted to announce the Creative Initiatives Fund will in future be known as The David Campbell Fund for Creative Initiatives in honour of the life and work David Campbell (1943-2009) .
It is fitting that David's name be associated with a fund aimed at offering financial support to AFT members who are interested in converting original and innovative ideas into practical projects
David was a founder member of AFT and made a major contribution to building resources for the family therapy discipline throughout his long, rich and immensely productive career. Charlotte Burck, a close colleague of David's for many years at the Tavistock Clinic has highlighted his creativity in her tribute to him "besides continually generating new ideas himself, he was always encouraging of our new ventures." This view will be echoed by numerous trainees, whose training experience was enriched by his tutorage, which combined a deeply genuine interest in personal and professional development with the ability to uncover and encourage the often hidden potential and originality of thought of the trainee.
We are delighted to have David's name attached to the fund which we hope will encourage and inspire AFT members to send in their proposals by endorsing and promoting family therapy and systemic theory and practice and benefitting the many forms of family and social life within the UK.
Purpose of the Fund
To pump drive creative and novel initiatives which support the welfare of families by endorsing family therapy and systemic practice, teaching, supervision and research projects in the U.K.
