Contribute to Context

If you are considering writing an article for Context, please take a look at this guide, and thank you for your interest in writing for Context.

The AFT publishing committee encourages contributions from all, regardless of where they are up to in their careers, and welcome family and systemic psychotherapy being viewed from different perspectives. The Context editorial team are interested in a broad range of articles which may be of interest to AFT members and other readers.

We encourage contributions from a range of authors and actively encourage new, emerging and unpublished writers to contribute articles. We are keen to include recently qualified systemic practitioners and those in training. Articulating your thoughts for others to respond to, expressing ideas and finding your voice, is beneficial to your development as a therapist and for widely disseminating systemic ideas into our culture.

You will have writing support from members of the Context publishing team to help fine tune your voice and ideas if you wish. The general editor, deputy editor and the individual issue editors are available to help and guide those with ideas but for whom writing an article is new. Whilst we can’t write it for you, we are happy to help you develop your idea(s).

Context has less rigorous formal requirements than peer-reviewed academic journals. We do not require peer-review standards of presentation and comprehensive literature reviews, though we do look for a good, clear writing-style and academic integrity in acknowledgement of sources and the origins of ideas.

Please contact us and we will provide you with some guidance on writing for Context, including general guidelines, Context house-style, editorial policy, images and copyright, citations and references.
