Race Conversations - Dippers and Divers, Leaners and Leapers with the DWP Presenter: Calvin Malcolm, John Burnham, Sharon Evans, David Secrett, Shakira Nkanang Date: Thursday 23 October Time: 6pm - 8.30pm This 2.5-hour interactive online experience invites systemic psychotherapists to explore difference not only as a concept, but as something lived and felt with our whole selves. The facilitators see difference as more than an idea, its dynamic presence influences how we listen, speak, and relate to each other.
Building Creative Relationships with Children and Young People: The Playfully Serious Practitioner Presenter: Jim Wilson Date: Wednesday 3 December Time: 6pm - 7.30pm In this webinar Jim Wilson will discuss his book and will present his core ideas about what makes for creative, humanising, and politically informed practice with children, young people and their families. Based on his extensive experience in mental health and social care services Jim aims to help participants widen their scope for enriching possibilities in their practice with young people and their networks. He hopes the webinar will provide opportunities for interaction with participants, their questions and interests about this theme. Innovations in HealthCare: Medical Family Therapy and Integrated Care Practitioner Presenter: Angela Lamson Date: Thursday 15 January Time: 6pm - 7.30pm This session will engage attendees in conversations about professional, contextual, and systemic strengths to establish medical family therapy and integrated care services through collaboration with multi-disciplinary partners. Evidence in support of systemic training, integrated care, and multi-disciplinary collaboration will be discussed along with clinical, operational, financial, and training pathways for starting an integrated behavioural healthcare partnership.
The ODDESSI results and the implication for Family Therapy Presenter: Dr. Russell Razzaque, Val Jackson and Rachel Bannister Date: Wednesday 11 February Time: 6pm - 7.30pm The ODDESSI trial was the largest RCT ever into a new model of mental healthcare in the UK. Beginning in 2017 It followed 6 Open Dialogue teams over 5 years, comparing them to treatment as usual within adult mental health services. It delivered an in-depth evaluation of both quantitative and qualitative elements encompassing a wide range of topics, including patterns of hospital usage, prescription of medication, and levels of satisfaction among both carers and service users. The webinar will present the results and give an opportunity to consider the implications for family therapy.
