Canadian Association of Marital and Family Therapy (CAMFT)

(L’association canadienne pour la thérapie conjugale et familiale – ACTCF)

CAMFT was founded in 1995 to promote the profession and practice of couple/marriage and family therapy in Canada.

The Registered Marriage & Family Therapist (RMFT) designation shows that the association’s RMFT members have met rigorous standards and are exceedingly well qualified to practice Couple/Marriage and Family Therapy. The RMFT credential sets these therapists apart from other psychotherapists who may identify themselves as Individual, Couple and Family Therapists but not necessarily have the same level of training, education and experience compared to RMFTs.

Mental health professionals who are interested in working from a systemic perspective are encouraged to further their knowledge and training by becoming a student, affiliate or associate member of CAMFT.
